Heating Services in Carrollton and North Dallas
North Texas does not ask much of a heating system for most of the year, and that is exactly why heating problems show up at the worst possible moment. A system sits unused from March to November, gets switched on during the first real cold snap, and whatever quietly failed over the summer announces itself on the coldest night of the year.
Homes here are split across different equipment. Some run a gas furnace, some run a heat pump, and a lot of newer builds run a dual fuel setup that switches between the two depending on how cold it gets outside. They fail in different ways and they are diagnosed differently, so the first thing our technician does is work out what you actually have.
Gas furnaces
Most furnace calls we take are ignition, flame sensor, or airflow problems rather than a dead furnace. A dirty flame sensor will shut a perfectly good furnace down and looks identical to a failure from the thermostat.
Heat pumps
A heat pump both heats and cools, so it runs year round and accumulates wear a furnace never sees. In winter it also runs a defrost cycle, and a heat pump that seems to be blowing cool air is often doing exactly what it is supposed to.
Thermostats
Worth ruling out before anything else. A thermostat that has lost its programming or its batteries produces the same symptom as a failed system, at a fraction of the cost.
